The birth of the Supper Nerd

Updated: Apr 5, 2022

Welcome to My Blog!

How did the Supper Nerd come to be?

Hello I am Lindy Gignac, mother of 3 girls and wife to the Jeffrey. I wanted to give him a funny name like Rae Drummond and the Marlboro man. But well I am a math brain and frankly not that creative. I am originally from from Orlando, spent a stint (aka. college) in Atlanta but have called Charlotte home for the past 17 years. In a previous life I designed stock option plans and calculated dilution rates for companies. Are you asleep yet?

Well after spending the last 20ish years chasing toddlers, wiping noses and running PTAs, I am finding more and more time on my hands. As much as I have tried to stop time (after the potty training phase. . wanted to sprint thru that phase), it kept going. I kicked around going back to work, but well since I am still holding out hope of making it to Wimbledon that is not feasible. Plus ask anyone who knows me, I HATE an appointment and work seems like one giant appointment. So why not start a business. . . . . but what?!?!?!

Then one day I had 4 separate people ask me what I was making for dinner that week. And the more I thought about it, I get asked this question all the time. I generally like to cook, but have tried the meal services a few times. The kind where everything comes shipped to you and it should take 20 minutes to be on the table. Yeah right, it takes way longer and it is so expensive. Plus most of my friends are super picky (you know who you are) and want to pick out their own ingredients. It is the coming up with the idea and the list that gets in the way. So the idea of Supper Nerd was born. A business out of telling you what to make for a dinner.

Here is the concept: You will fill out a questionnaire with your general preferences. Think I love cilantro, hate mushrooms, like low carb meals and do not eat red meat. Then on the weeks you want to move forward you will tell me about your needs for the week. Think 2 crockpot meals, one easy meal and one medium difficulty meal. Based upon your preferences, I will deliver to you 4 recipes and a shopping list that is ready to be taken straight to the grocery store.

In addition to the "Basic: 4 recipes and a list" package, I can sell side dishes, help with a dinner party, assist with managing meals for a weekend your hosting the inlaws and even order your groceries for you. Let's take all the work out of the planning and let you enjoy the sautéing and chopping (OK who really enjoys chopping?!?!).
